London’s A Grave With No Name mine their own distinctive vein of haunted, freaked folk/ art rock, tracing delicate fissures in the emotional radiography of loss and longing to spellbinding effect.

Pairs - Pairs [2010]

“Pairs is/are some bitches and dickheads from Shanghai.
They have taken their broadway smash music to various death traps, both North and South and survived to tell the tale to deaf ears.
Pairs make music and don’t make it particularly well, almost like people who have lost their talent.
Their name is often misspelled as Paris, and Pairs understand that this is an easy mistake to make.”

Beach Fossils - Beach Fossils [2010]

The jangly, self recorded ramblings of Brooklyn’s Dustin Payseur, Beach Fossils offers hauntingly catchy tunes that blend the energy of an impulsive road trip with the melodious wandering of a lucid dream. Sun drenched riffs, kaleidoscopic rhythms and hazy lyrics saturate Beach Fossils’ first release, the album’s carefree vibe perfectly summed up through song titles such as “Daydream,” “Vacation,” and “Lazy Day.

Sebadoh - The Sebadoh [Sub Pop, 1999]

Sebadoh is an indie rock band formed in Westfield, Massachusetts by Eric Gaffney and Dinosaur Jr bass player Lou Barlow. Along with such bands as Pavement and Guided by Voices, Sebadoh helped pioneer lo-fi music, a style of indie rock characterized by low-fidelity recording techniques, often on four-track machines. The band's early output, such as 1990's Weed Forestin' and 1991's Sebadoh III, was typical of this style, and wavered between Barlow's wry, introspective folk and Gaffney's psychedelic noise-rock experiments.

Lovvers - Think [2008]

Lovvers are an alternative rock band from Nottingham, England. The band formed in MAY 2006 and made their live debut a few weeks later. Their sound is a chaotic mixture of fractured guitar and mangled vocals, redolent of early 90s US acts such as Scratch Acid and Drive Like Jehu. The group features a former member of The Murder of Rosa Luxembourg. Although the band is still in its infancy critical reception has been very positive, with website Drowned in Sound mentioning the group in its feature “Tips for 2007.“[1] The band’s first release was the ‘Lovvers’ EP on vinyl by Johnson Family Records, which included four of the five songs found on the CD/R distributed at live shows. Their next release ‘Near Enough For Jazz/Special Needs’ is also on Johnson Family and available in July. The band have toured with Blood Red Shoes, as well as playing shows with Blood On The Wall, Parts and Labor, Big Business, Awesome Color, Foals, BARR, Help She Can’t Swim and An Albatross.
