What can I say about chillwave... personally, it has always been a love hate relationship. The scene was saturated with this glo-fi, dare i say, fad along with the lo-fi movement, where the aesthetic was totally misguided. However, I must say I do appreciate certain artists like Toro Y Moi and Memory Tapes and nothing evoked a warm sunny beach day more and the seeming nonchalance of the music just commanded you to lay back and relax.
Brothertiger is quintessential chillwave, with the heavily washed synths, the processed reverbed out dreamy vocals, the big booming kick drums and the heavy thumping bass that punishes any sub-woofer it encounters. It's a little early for summer but hey, spring is creeping up and it's perfect for those sunny days.
